Missouri & Illinois Toxic Exposure Attorneys

It is sad to say, but there are many companies in America and throughout the rest of the world that manufacture and sell toxic or harmful products. The attorneys at Keane Law LLC are experienced in prosecuting cases against companies that negligently allow their products to harm or poison workers, consumers and patients.

You may be familiar with the harms caused by asbestos, a material used for insulation and industrial uses that is known to cause mesothelioma, a unique and deadly form of cancer. If you or a loved one has developed mesothelioma, contact the attorneys at Keane Law LLC to receive a free case evaluation.

Another carcinogenic chemical that is widely used, but lesser known, is benzene. Benzene is a component of gasoline and some lubricants, and is used in industrial settings to manufacture plastics and other products. It is even found in small amounts in some soft drinks. Benzene is known to be carcinogenic, and most often causes a particular blood cancer, acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Benzene exposure is also known to cause myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). If you have AML or MDS, ask yourself whether you could possibly have been exposed to benzene. If you worked in or lived near a pipeline, refinery or other industrial setting where benzene was used, worked at a gas station, or frequently used industrial lubricants or rust-removal products, you may have a claim for damages.

You may have seen the heavy news coverage regarding lead exposure in Flint, Michigan and other places. Lead is a material that was commonly used in many products in the first half of the twentieth century, including water pipes, paint, and gasoline. It is now known that exposure to lead can cause birth defects in pregnant women and cognitive deficits in exposed children. If you were exposed to lead by someone else’s actions and gave birth to a child with a birth defect, or if you or your child suffered from a learning disability after lead exposure, contact us today for a free case evaluation.

Breathing particles of dust made of silicates is known to cause silicosis. This can happen to workers in various industries, including coal miners and factory workers. Sandblasting is an occupation that requires the use of products that can cause silicosis if used improperly. You can also get silicosis if you live near an industrial area that is improperly emitting silica. If you have been diagnosed with silicosis and you believe your exposure was caused by the wrongful act of someone else, Keane Law LLC can help to assess whether you may have a claim for money damages.

New evidence suggest that glyphosate, a commonly used pesticide (sold under the trade name Roundup®) is carcinogenic. The World Health Organization has recently characterized glyphosate as a “probable human carcinogen.” Keane Law LLC is currently investigating these claims. If you developed cancer after exposure to glyphosate, you may have a case for money damages—contact us to find out.

There are many other possible toxic exposure cases that we can evaluate for you. New evidence suggests that many common plastics contain chemicals that disrupt the functioning of the human endocrine system (endocrine disrupters). Many types of paints contain toxic chemicals, such as hexamethylene diisocyanate, which can cause reactive airway disease (RADS). Workers in factories that use a chemical called diacetyl (often used as a butter-like flavoring agent) may develop a disease called bronchiolitis obliterans, also known as “popcorn lung.” If you have evidence that you were injured by a toxic chemical, contact Keane Law LLC to discuss the particulars with you to determine whether you may have a case.
