Talcum Powder and Asbestos – Naturally Occurring Elements

Talc is a mineral found naturally occurring on earth.  The talc mineral is mainly made up of three elements that we are all familiar with: magnesium, silicone and oxygen.

Asbestos is composed of six naturally occurring elements: chrysotile, crocidolite, amosite, anthophyllite, tremolite, and actinolite. 

Is Talc linked to mesothelioma?

There is a relationship between lung fibrosis and talc exposure.  What is the harm of Asbestos?

Asbestos may cause mesothelioma. Cancerous (malignant) mesothelioma is the most common form and typically affects the lungs. A cough, shortness of breath, and chest pain are of the most common symptoms.  If you think you have mesothelioma contact your primary care physician immediately.
